COVID-19 in Spain

April 24th, 2021
Data on 14-day notification rate and new schedules

The Data on 14-day notification rate in the Valencian Community has dropped to 40.10 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The Valencian Community continues being the region with the lowest rate and is far from the 232.55 cases of the national average, according to the Ministry's data update.

The main novelty changes established by the Generalitat Valenciana, is the schedule extension for restaurants and commerce. Thus, as of Monday 26 , these places may have their doors open until 10 pm, coinciding with the curfew. A measure that the sector had been demanding - until now the closure in the hospitalityindustry was set at 6:00 p.m. and commerce at 8:00 p.m. - in order to combat the hard economic effects caused by the pandemic.

This decision implies certain risks, although now, it is acceptable. During the last months, the Valencian Community has been moving with a 14-day notification rate between 25 and 41 infections per 100,000 inhabitants. That is the lowest in Spain by far, so Mr. Puig, Valencia Community President has made this decision with the aim of alleviating the economic situation as much as possible.
